About
Courtney Hogenson, RN, CMC, ALNC
Private RN Advocate & Care Management Advisor
Overview
I am a Registered Nurse, Patient Advocate, Certified Aging Life Care Manager, and Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant, advising individuals and families navigating complex medical, aging, and care-related decisions.
I work with a select number of clients who value discretion, clinical expertise, and highly personalized support. My role is to bring structure and clarity to situations that are often fragmented, time-sensitive, and emotionally complex.
From hospitalizations and new diagnoses to long-term care planning and family decision-making, I provide steady, experienced guidance at every stage.
Often engaged through referrals from physicians, attorneys, and fiduciaries.
Clinical Foundation
My career began at UCLA in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and ICU Resource Team, where I cared for critically ill patients requiring a high level of precision, coordination, and clinical judgment.
That experience continues to inform my work today, particularly in high-stakes situations where details matter, timing is critical, and decisions must be made with confidence.
Private Care Expertise
Healthcare Entrepreneurship
Following my clinical work, I founded and led multiple healthcare companies across home care, private-duty nursing, and care management, including Heal at Home, RN Care Consultants, Heal at Home Nursing, Nurses Onsite, and Call-Light.
These organizations were built to deliver high-touch, private-pay care with an emphasis on quality, responsiveness, and client experience. My most recent company was acquired for several million dollars, reflecting both the standard of care delivered and the operational excellence behind it.
Professional Affiliations
I am an Advanced Professional member of the Aging Life Care Association and a Public Policy Ambassador with the Alzheimer’s Association.
My work includes advocacy, education, and collaboration with professionals across healthcare, legal, and fiduciary disciplines.

How I Work
Philosophy
Clarity in complexity. Precision in execution. Discretion in every detail.
Families I work with are often managing significant responsibilities and expect a level of service that is both highly competent and deeply reliable.
My role is to ensure that nothing is overlooked and that every decision is supported by experience, clinical insight, and thoughtful consideration.
Advisory Approach
My work today is intentionally focused and relationship-driven.
I serve as a central point of oversight, ensuring that care is not only appropriate, but thoughtfully coordinated, proactively managed, and aligned with each client’s goals and values.
This includes:
Close coordination with physicians, specialists, and private care teams
Ongoing clinical oversight and risk mitigation
Guidance through complex healthcare and legal systems
Facilitating clear, productive communication among family members and advisory
A Personal Note
Outside of my work, I value time with my family, being outdoors, and traveling.
I enjoy hiking in California, the Hawaiian Islands, and Sedona, and have a deep appreciation for nature, especially when a Painted Bunting appears at my bird feeder.
I also enjoy great sushi, live music, and thoughtfully curated experiences.
I am naturally drawn to solving complex problems and creating meaningful impact, a mindset that informs every aspect of my work.
